


ACDVPA Constitution and Code of Conduct
The CONSTITUTION as of 6th January 2016

The association shall have a committee consisting of Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and at least seven other members.

The committee shall be elected annually (see rule three) and shall be empowered to make decisions deemed necessary for the good of the association.

A General Meeting, for all members, will be held once each year. (The Annual General Meeting) at which:

The Treasurer will furnish financial details of the current year

The committee for the following year will be elected

Any other business affection the Association will be discussed and voted upon where necessary

Membership

A subscription fee will be paid annually, by each member, by the 31st March.

Members not renewed by 31st March will be debarred from all the privileges and will not be eligible to enter any shows

Membership of ACVPA shall be open to individuals who are interested in participating in and furthering the work of ACDVPA; provided that they agree to abide by this constitution, the Code of Conduct, any membership conditions properly imposed by the Committee and to pay the annual subscription as determined by the Committee and approved by the membership at an Annual General Meeting. No individual may be admitted to membership if the Committee considers they do not meet these conditions.

Every individual member shall have one vote.

Members are bound by and shall observe any membership conditions and any disciplinary code of ACDVPA.

The Committee may terminate the membership of any individual:
i. If annual membership or other fees are unpaid 12 months after the due date.
or
ii. By way of expulsion at the end of disciplinary procedure for breach of any membership condition or for breach of the disciplinary code of ACDVPA; provided that in the case of proposed expulsion at the end of a disciplinary procedure, the individual concerned shall have the right to be heard by the Committee, accompanied by a friend acting in their personal capacity, who may also speak, or make written representation before a final decision is made.
Members’ Code of Conduct
The ACDVPA is an open, friendly gardening society its aims are to encourage, educate inform and provide a platform for individuals to produce and show their own produce.

It is for amateur growers, professional growers may not enter competitions or shows.

Professional or amateur ‘trophy hunters’ will be discouraged from joining and they will be expelled from the ACDVPA if found to be participating in this activity which is detrimental to the societies’ ethos.

All members are volunteers

All members will be expected to promote, help organise and participate in the activities of the ACVPA to the best of their ability.

All members will co-operate with the Committee and all other members showing consideration and respect to them.

Only the seed required by the individual member will be ordered by the member. No seed is to be re-sold.

Goods purchased by a member must be requested only on an official order form.
